Offering 90 Weekly Flights in Nine Passenger Gateways in North America

EVA Air is launching a new service between Taipei and Dallas on October 3 this year, offering three weekly flights and bringing the total to nine passenger gateways in North America, including Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Vancouver. The new gateway not only enables EVA Air to offer the greatest number of destinations and the most extensive flight network from Taiwan to North America but also makes it the only airline in Asia operating two destinations in Texas.

“EVA Air has been operating cargo service to and from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport since 1998. Now, we are seeing strong passenger demand for this route due to the influx of numerous companies in recent years and strong economic and population growth. Dallas has become one of Texas’ economic and commercial centers,” said EVA Air President Clay Sun. “The opening of the direct passenger flight to Dallas makes us the only airline in Asia to operate two routes to Texas. As the third largest airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic and transfer to major cities in the United States, Central and South America, having service in this market creates more convenience for our passengers.”

The airline will serve the route with Boeing 777-300ER on the following schedule:

After the launch of the new route, passengers from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will have a direct connection to Taoyuan International Airport in the early morning and can transfer to any of EVA Air’s Asian destinations with ease. With this flight network in place, EVA Air anticipates gradually attracting more passengers from North America to its efficient main hub in Taiwan for connecting flights, further enhancing EVA Air’s operations. From the East Coast to the West Coast, EVA Air’s diverse routes and frequent flight services will extend to more than 100 inland cities in the United States and Canada. This expansion will meet the needs of different customer groups, making travel arrangements more convenient and flexible for passengers.

Dallas is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, home to numerous multinational corporations and commercial institutions, with a population of over 8.3 million. EVA Air announced the signing of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) procurement agreements with three major suppliers: Associated Energy Group, LLC (AEG FUELS) from the United States, COSMO Oil Marketing Co., Ltd. (COSMO) from Japan, and Formosa Petrochemical Corporation from Taiwan. This strategic move reaffirms EVA Air’s unwavering commitment to sustainability by expanding its SAF footprint and establishing long-term partnerships with global and local suppliers.

“Today, sustainable development is not just a choice—it is a responsibility,” said EVA Air President Clay Sun. “Our bilateral collaborations with AEG FUELS, COSMO, and Formosa Petrochemical Corporation reflect our commitment to net-zero emissions. By actively introducing SAF across our global network, we are reducing our operational carbon footprint and fostering transformation and growth throughout the aviation supply chain.”

As the world moves toward the shared goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, SAF is regarded as one of the aviation industry’s most promising solutions for carbon reduction. EVA Air is in compliance with the European Union’s (EU) SAF supply policy, and all flights departing from Europe have been operating with a 2% SAF blend since the first quarter of this year. The new agreements mark the next phase of EVA Air’s sustainability journey, as it will independently and regularly begin SAF integration at key hubs in North America, Japan, and Taiwan starting in the second quarter of 2025. These actions aim to substantially lower flight emissions and lay the foundation for broader SAF adoption in the future.

EVA Air is partnering with three major suppliers. AEG FUELS is a globally recognized aviation fuel provider with an extensive and reliable international logistics network. COSMO, one of Japan’s leading energy companies, will supply SAF in the Kansai area, where the Osaka-Kansai Japan Expo will be held until October 13, 2025. Formosa Petrochemical Corporation is the first company in Taiwan to supply SAF produced in-house, reinforcing local supply chain resilience. These collaborations are strengthening EVA Air’s fuel supply flexibility, expanding SAF adoption across the Asia-Pacific region, and accelerating the sustainable transition of aviation fuel in the region.

As a significant milestone in advancing SAF adoption, EVA Air successfully introduced domestically produced SAF on April 23, 2025, as part of the Civil Aviation Administration’s pilot program for SAF usage. The fuel was blended into two international flights: BR156 from Taipei Songshan Airport to Seoul Gimpo International Airport, and BR148 from Kaohsiung International Airport to Kansai International Airport in Japan. This marks the official launch of SAF application at Taiwan’s local airports. The initiative demonstrates EVA Air’s strong commitment to sustainability and highlights the maturity and resilience of Taiwan’s local SAF supply chain.

EVA Air has made significant strides in sustainability in recent years. On the environmental front, the airline has implemented numerous energy-saving and carbon-reduction initiatives, including fleet modernization, adopting new-generation fuel-efficient aircraft such as the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350-1000, and optimizing flight routes to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Looking ahead, EVA Air will continue to expand its use of SAF and actively engage in global sustainability initiatives. The airline also aims to strengthen collaboration with partners to collectively usher in a new era of sustainable aviation.

EVA Air, in collaboration with Evergreen Air Cargo Services Corp. and Trade-Van Information Services Co., has successfully completed the pilot program of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) ONE Record standard, becoming the first airline in Taiwan to adopt this new framework. ONE Record is IATA’s next-generation digital standard for air cargo, utilizing Application Programming Interface (API) technology to enable real-time, secure data exchange across the global supply chain. This advancement not only enhances logistics transparency and operational efficiency but also significantly reduces paper-based documentation and carbon dioxide emissions, laying the foundation for the digital transformation and sustainable development of the air cargo industry.

During the trial, EVA Air and Evergreen Air Cargo Services Corp. successfully confirmed the transmission and reception of standardized messages related to key cargo status updates, including Freight on Hand (FOH) and Ready for Carriage (RCS). Additionally, in partnership with Trade-Van Information Services Co., EVA Air completed the testing of data transmission and reception for electronic air waybills (e-AWBs) using the ONE Record standard. These achievements highlight EVA Air’s commitment to digitalizing air cargo operations and its technical expertise to drive innovation.

Compared to traditional formats limited by field structures and character restrictions, ONE Record offers a more flexible and secure data model, enabling air cargo stakeholders to handle vast amounts of complex information more efficiently. Beyond master and house air waybills, the ONE Record standard also supports the digitalization of essential documents such as dangerous goods declarations, customs clearance paperwork, flight schedules, aircraft cargo capacity, pricing, booking details, and specialized cargo management, further advancing the global standardization and digitalization of cargo information flows.

As the first airline in Taiwan to trial IATA’s ONE Record standard, EVA Air remains committed to corporate sustainability by actively promoting paperless cargo operations and smart logistics. By reducing reliance on traditional paper documents, the airline aims to minimize resource consumption and carbon emissions. EVA Air will continue optimizing innovative logistics operations, enhancing cargo service efficiency, and expanding the application scope of ONE Record.
